Welcome to AMTRAC.ORG!

This web site serves several functions:

It is the Official Website of the 1st Amphibian Tractor Battalion (Vietnam) AmGrunts.

It is a repository for information about the Assault Amphibious Vehicles of the United States Marine Corps. From the first LVT-1 of World War II to the AAV of today's War on Terror, these uniquely Marine Corps vehicles have been transporting Marines into battle for over 63 years. It is a place for all Marine Corps AmTrackers to find old friends; make new friends; or to exchange thoughts and ideas with each other. Please visit our Members Services page for more information.

This website is designed for military, former military, students of military history and the general public, who are interested in learning about these unique amphibious vehicles and the Marines who make them work.

This site is owned, built and maintained by Gene Miller as a labor of love, but it would not have been possible without the help and input of many Marines who have contributed most of what is displayed within these pages. To all who have contributed, Thank You!

While this is an unofficial U.S. Marine Corps website, I have done everything I can to insure that the information presented here is accurate, complete and in keeping with the core values of the United States Marine Corps.

Thank you for visiting AMTRAC.ORG
