This photo, which is in the collections of the National Archives, and the USMC Museum agrees that it's the 3d Division, 3rd Amphibious Tractor Battalion taken on W-Day on Guam. However, it looks like an LVT-1. As far as I know, the LVT-1 was phased out before Guam.

1.) Is it an LVT-1?
2.) Could it be staged, like a publicity photo, taken during training before 3rd Amphib got LVT-2s?
3.) Is it somewhere else, like Cape Gloucester December 1943?

Thanks
